A quick and easy spinach artichoke dip with a fun spiderweb design on top, ready in just 20 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights or last-minute gatherings, this creamy, cheesy dip uses simple pantry ingredients and delivers impressive results with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 can (14 oz) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Thaw frozen spinach in the microwave for about 2 minutes or in a bowl of warm water. Place in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out all excess water. Set aside.
  3. Drain the can of artichoke hearts in a colander and roughly chop into small pieces, about the size of a pea.
  4. Optional: In a small skillet over medium heat, add a tiny drizzle of olive oil and the minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  6. Add the drained spinach, chopped artichokes, sautéed garlic (or raw), half of the mozzarella cheese, all of the Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until evenly distributed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Scoop the mixture into an oven-safe baking dish (8×8 or 9-inch pie dish) and spread evenly with a spatula.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Using a spoon or small spatula, create a swirling pattern by dragging the cheese in circular motions from the center outward to form a spiderweb design.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown in spots. For extra browning, switch to broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully.
  10. Let the dip rest for about 2 minutes before serving. Serve warm with tortilla chips, crusty bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

Drain spinach and artichokes thoroughly to prevent a watery dip. Room temperature cream cheese ensures a smooth texture. The spiderweb design is forgiving—even messy swirls look beautiful after baking. Can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance (without mozzarella top) and refrigerated; add 5 minutes to baking time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes or microwave individual portions for 30-45 seconds. Freeze unbaked dip (without spiderweb top) for up to 3 months.
