A quick and easy healthy snack featuring crisp apple slices drizzled with honey, sprinkled with cinnamon, and topped with toasted pecans for a sweet, crunchy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or organic)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Β½ cup raw pecans (toasted)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry 2 large apples. Slice them thinly about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Toss the apple slices immediately with 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Heat a small dry skillet over medium heat. Add Β½ cup raw pecans and toast for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently until golden brown and nutty-smelling. Remove from heat.
  4. Arrange apple slices in a single layer on a serving platter, slightly overlapping.
  5. Warm honey slightly and drizzle 2 tablespoons evenly over the apples.
  6. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon over the honey-drizzled apples.
  7. Scatter the toasted pecans on top and add a pinch of sea salt if desired.
  8. Let the apple nachos sit for a few minutes to allow honey to seep in and cinnamon to stick. Serve immediately.

Notes

Warm the honey slightly before drizzling for better coverage. Toast pecans carefully over medium heat to avoid burning. Slice apples uniformly for best texture and presentation. Can substitute pecans with walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, or toasted coconut flakes. For vegan version, replace honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
