These easy mummy hot dogs are a quick and fun Halloween treat made with crescent dough, hot dogs, and mustard eyes. Ready in just 15 minutes, they are perfect for parties, school events, or a festive dinner before trick-or-treating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (preferably beef)
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Cooking spray or butter (for greasing baking sheet, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean cutting board. Press the perforations together gently to form one solid sheet of dough.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough lengthwise into 8 long strips, each about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog, starting at one end and working your way to the other. Leave small gaps between the wraps to resemble mummy bandages. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough strips.
  5. Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each one.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. While still warm, use a toothpick or squeeze bottle to add two small dots of mustard for eyes on the exposed part of the hot dog.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use plain yellow mustard for the eyes to avoid burning. Leave gaps in the dough wrapping for toasted edges and to prevent sogginess. Can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking. Freeze baked mummy hot dogs for up to 2 months.
