This easy Halloween snack mix comes together in just 15 minutes with no oven required. It’s the perfect sweet-and-salty treat for parties, movie nights, or last-minute cravings, featuring crunchy pretzels, popcorn, peanuts, candy corn, and a smoky paprika butter coating with a chocolate drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 2 cups popped popcorn (plain or lightly salted)
  • 1 cup salted peanuts (dry-roasted)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup candy pumpkins
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (skip if peanuts are salted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (or vegetable oil)

Instructions

  1. Prep the popcorn: If using freshly popped popcorn, spread it out on a baking sheet to cool completely for about 5 minutes.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine mini pretzel twists, cooled popcorn, salted peanuts, candy corn, and candy pumpkins. Gently toss with hands or a rubber spatula.
  3. Make the seasoning butter: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter (20-30 seconds). Stir in brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and garlic powder until sugar is mostly dissolved.
  4. Season the mix: Drizzle the butter mixture over the dry ingredients, folding gently with a rubber spatula until everything is lightly coated.
  5. Spread and set: Pour the seasoned mix onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  6. Make the chocolate drizzle: In the same small bowl, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  7. Drizzle and chill: Using a fork or small spoon, drizzle melted chocolate over the snack mix. Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set the chocolate.
  8. Break and serve: Once chocolate is firm, break the mix into bite-sized clusters. Transfer to a serving bowl.

Notes

For best texture, ensure popcorn is completely cool before mixing. Use fresh candy corn for optimal chewiness. The chocolate drizzle can be piped from a zip-top bag for more control. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. The mix tastes even better the next day as flavors meld.
