Easy 3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip

3-ingredient slow cooker buffalo chicken dip - featured image

This creamy, tangy, and spicy buffalo chicken dip requires only three ingredients and a slow cooker. It’s the perfect party appetizer that looks like you spent hours in the kitchen when you really just dumped everything in a pot and walked away.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 34 breasts)
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed (two 8 oz blocks)
  • 1 cup buffalo wing sauce (like Frank’s RedHot Original)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Cube the softened cream cheese into 1-inch pieces and scatter them over the chicken.
  3. Pour the buffalo wing sauce evenly over the chicken and cream cheese. Gently stir to coat the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or on high for 1.5-2 hours, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and shreds easily.
  5. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir until the cream cheese is fully incorporated and the dip is smooth and creamy.
  7. Switch the slow cooker to ‘warm’ setting and let the dip sit for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese in block form, not spreadable. Frank’s RedHot Original is the recommended hot sauce. If the dip is too thin, cook uncovered for 15-20 minutes to reduce. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
