Thin, crispy apple slices dusted with warm spices and paired with a creamy maple yogurt dip, perfect for a quick, healthy snack or light dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or coconut sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or dairy-free coconut yogurt)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (Grade A)
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife, cut the apples into very thin slices, about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick. Remove any seeds.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple slices with 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice) and 1 tablespoon sugar over the apples. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the apple slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, avoiding overlap. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 15 minutes, flipping the slices carefully halfway through (around 7 minutes) using tongs or a spatula.
  6. Check for crispness after 15 minutes. If needed, cook in 2-3 minute increments until desired crispness is reached.
  7. Remove the apple chips and lay them on a wire rack or parchment paper to cool completely.
  8. While the chips cool, mix 1 cup plain Greek yogurt with 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (if using) until smooth.
  9. Serve the apple chips with the maple yogurt dip immediately or store leftovers as instructed.

Notes

Use a mandoline slicer for consistent thin slices to ensure even crisping. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation. Flip the apple slices halfway through cooking for even crispness. Cool chips completely before storing to maintain crunch. If chips soften after storage, refresh in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 300°F.
