This creamy slow cooker beer cheese sausage dip is the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer. With just three simple steps, you get a rich, savory dip perfect for game day, parties, or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened and cut into cubes
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1/2 cup beer (lager or pilsner)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground breakfast sausage and break it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the sausage to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  2. Combine ingredients in the slow cooker: Add the cubed cream cheese, shredded cheddar, beer, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to the slow cooker. Stir gently. Add the drained sausage on top. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours or on HIGH for 1 hour.
  3. Stir and serve: After cooking, stir until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with extra milk or beer if needed. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Switch to WARM setting for serving.

Notes

Shred your own cheese for best texture. Let cream cheese come to room temperature. Use a mild lager or pilsner. Drain sausage well to avoid greasy dip. Stir halfway through cooking. Keep on WARM setting for serving.
