A quick and easy creamy spread bursting with fresh herbs, lemon zest, and smoked paprika, perfect for Easter gatherings or any party. This versatile recipe serves eight and pairs well with crackers, veggies, or bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or flat-leaf parsley)
  • 2 tablespoons chives, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes or microwave for 10 seconds if in a rush.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Whisk or use a handheld mixer until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, smoked paprika, Dijon mustard, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  4. Fold in chopped dill, chives, and diced red bell pepper gently but thoroughly.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld and the spread firm up.
  6. Before serving, stir the spread again and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with extra herbs or a light dusting of smoked paprika. Serve with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

If the spread is too thick after chilling, stir in a teaspoon of milk or olive oil to loosen it. Prepare a day ahead for deeper flavor. Use fresh lemon zest for best flavor. Start with half teaspoon smoked paprika if cautious. Can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream or plant-based alternatives for dairy-free version.
