Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder (preferably ceremonial grade)
  • 1012 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon gold sprinkles or edible gold dust
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (optional)
  • Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Roughly chop 10-12 Oreo cookies into chunks.
  3. Melt 12 oz (340 g) white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler over simmering water.
  4. Stir in 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter and Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract into the melted white chocolate (optional).
  5. Sift 2 teaspoons matcha powder over the melted chocolate and gently fold it in with a spatula until fully incorporated and evenly colored.
  6. Fold the chopped Oreos into the matcha white chocolate mixture, reserving a few pieces for topping.
  7. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly to about ΒΌ inch (6 mm) thickness.
  8. Scatter 1 tablespoon gold sprinkles or edible gold dust over the top and press lightly to stick.
  9. Refrigerate the baking sheet for 20-30 minutes or until the bark is firm and set. Avoid freezing.
  10. Remove from fridge and break into irregular pieces. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Use ceremonial grade matcha for best flavor and color. Sift matcha powder before mixing to avoid clumps. Melt white chocolate gently to prevent burning. For dairy-free version, use vegan white chocolate and coconut oil instead of butter. Store bark in airtight container in fridge for up to two weeks. Avoid freezing to prevent chocolate bloom.
